The Net zero CO2 objectives imply massive electrification of the whole economy from transportation, heating to industry. The Net-Zero Industry Act is an initiative stemming from the Green Deal Industrial Plan which aims to scale up the manufacturing of clean technologies in the European Union. Adopted in 2024, it is designed to help Europe manufacture 40% of its annual deployment needs of strategic technology products, including PV modules, batteries and heat pumps.
